About Me
Hi!
I’m Ivana, and aviation has been part of my life for over 15 years.
I began my career as cabin crew, working in both commercial and private aviation. I’ve lived the early sign-ons, long duty days, time zone confusion, sad crew meals, hotel rooms, and the constant responsibility that comes with looking after others. I know firsthand what this job asks of your body, your mind, and your energy.
Based on my educational background, I had the opportunity to work beyond flying, moving into training delivery, design, and development, where I worked closely with cabin crew and pilots, primarily within the aviation medicine and first aid field. This allowed me to better understand how flying impacts the human body and mind.
I bring together clinical training, scientific education, and real-world aviation experience. I am a qualified nurse, hold a Bachelor’s degree with Honours in Biochemistry, and am a Level 5 Health & Wellness Coach accredited by the College of Naturopathic Medicine. My background is further supported by advanced qualifications in training design and delivery, and holistic health modalities. This allows me to bridge science with a whole-body approach to health and wellbeing. More than titles, what drives me is curiosity. I’m genuinely interested in how flying affects crew and pilots, how irregular schedules shape health, and what actually helps people feel better in such a unique working environment.
Aviation Health grew out of a realisation that while crew training heavily focuses on passenger health and wellbeing, there is often far less space to explore what flying does to the crew’s own bodies, or how they can be supported in such a demanding role.
I spend a lot of time reading research, following science, and translating it into bite-sized, understandable information that supports real life, not ideal conditions.
I strongly believe that wellbeing in aviation cannot be one-size-fits-all. What supports one person may not support another, even on the same aircraft or roster. Tailoring wellness to the individual, within the reality of aviation schedules, is at the heart of everything I do.
Through this space, I share reflections, experiences, and practical guidance around aviation health and wellbeing. Nutrition, energy, recovery, stress, mindset, and the quieter parts of the job that don’t always get spoken about.
Alongside the blog, I offer one-on-one coaching and workshops for aviation professionals and companies. These sessions create space to reflect and explore what wellbeing looks like for you, within the reality of your schedule, responsibilities, and life outside of work.
Aviation Health exists for the people who keep aviation moving, often at the cost of their own wellbeing. My hope is that this space feels honest, grounding, and reassuring. A place where things feel a little clearer and more manageable.
Safe flying.
Ivana
